Hi, my name is Mario. It’s great to meet you. A little about me, I love telling stories, making educational comics for kids, and growing super delicious carrots in my backyard garden. In 2004, I hurt my neck diving into a shallow swimming pool, leaving me a man on wheels. My whole life changed in an instant, though I never would have believed God had something way bigger for me just beyond the fog.

Mario is the founder of Beartruth Books, a Christian comic book publishing company and creator of the award-winning Graphic Story Bible series. They are currently creating the official graphic novel adaptation of the Corrie ten Boom’s best-selling WWII memoir The Hiding Place, to be released April, 2024.

Mario writes and performs poems and teaches kids and adults how to find their unique voice through the power of stoytelling.
Urban Farming
Raising tasty veggies from the living dirt is primal, spiritual, and life transforming. Mario is the Executive Director of The Agrarian Institute, an education farm dedicated to empowering our community through hands-on farming and backyard gardening education, local food relief, and ecological restoration.
